Focal Point, the highly combustible modern rockers from Windsor, Ontario, Canada pack quite a punch. With over 5 years of dedication and drive, the band’s intense high-energy performances prove that its four members have the right chemistry to make more than just music, but rather a hard felt musical experience.

“You have to put on a show,” says singer/guitarist Randy Samrah. “You have to become the music, feel it inside. The audience will feel it as well”.

With the replacement of some members over the years, Focal Point has solidified into a powerhouse whose original high energy sound is conveyed through their memorable live show.

“Nothing compares to a live Focal Point show. They command incredible stage presence for a young, unsigned band. Their intensity and natural charisma direct you to the stage, and their performance will keep you there,” says Canada Social’s Mary-Helen Clark-Mackinnon.

This type of performance is what is needed to share the stage with such bands as KORN.

In 2005, Focal Point rocked a sold out crowd of KORN fans at the Chubby Pickle in Windsor. The crowd cheered in approval as they quickly picked up on the intensity that Focal Point delivers. KORN even performed an impromptu set using Focal Point’s gear.

On September 30, 2005, Focal Point released their second full length CD titled 'What You Control' to a sold out audience. Focal Point became the first indie band to sell out the Chubby Pickle and 'What You Control' sold over 400 units within the first week. The Windsor Star’s Ted Shaw reported that “the album's slashing electronics and aggressive vocals, balanced by acoustic guitars and violins in quieter moments, recall that of 90’s alternative rock.”

Furthermore, the band recently worked with new producer Joel Kazmi on three songs from the album and mixed it in the Sony BMG building in Toronto, Ontario.
“We really like the way the album turned out, but we wanted to try a different perspective to help move the songs in the right direction,” explains guitarist Paul Sperduti.

Focal Point has rocked a number of venues all across Ontario. In 2002 the band was featured on The Life Network’s television show “The Lofters”. The band has also been rocking the Toronto scene, playing frequently in the downtown circuit at such venues as The Horseshoe, The Hard Rock Café (Club 279), The El Mocambo, and the Opera House. Focal Point opened up the inter-university KIN GAMES in 2004 to a 1000+ audience on the University of Windsor campus and also placed within the top ten out of 200 bands later that year at Toronto’s EMERGENZA FESTIVAL to another 1000+ sold out crowd. The band continues to perform frequently to large audiences in their home town as well as other cities throughout Ontario.

Currently, the band is looking to secure a promotion, distribution and recording deal and to support their new release, a tour will be put together to try to reach everyone to bring back a long lost time where the main focus is to have a memorable experience and to enjoy music for what its truly worth.

“You’ll be captivated by their performance and will probably attempt to sing along, even if it is the first time you’ve heard the band.” - Canada Social-
