Water Flow Error	Filter cartridges are dirty	Remove the filter cartridges from the pump and press the filter or heat button. If no alarm appears, you will need to clean or replace the filter cartridges.
Water Flow Error	Filter housing is restricting flow	Remove the filter cartridges from the pump and press the filter or heat button. If no alarm appears, you will need to clean or replace the filter cartridges.
Water Flow Error	Debris screens are blocked.	Ensure that the debris screens are clear of debris.
Pipes within the liner are kinked or bent.	Using your hands, check the condition of the pipes within the liner.

Do not use the spa or place any further Pure Spa Salt for 24 to 48 hours to ensure the levels reduce. Unplug the spa pump, remove from the liner and drain 20% of the water from the spa. Refill this with fresh water. Start the Salt Chlorinator System.

Low salt alarm.	Alarm for low salt levels within the spa. This means the spa requires further salt to be added.	Unplug the spa pump from the electricity, wait 10 seconds then plug the spa back in. Reset the spa as first use using the reset button. Once reset, turn on the Hydro Jet system. Gradually add and dissolve 0.5kg (500g) of Pure Spa Salt at a time. Start the Salt Chlorinator System. Allow the spa pump to run on either the 5 hour or 8 hour setting. If the E11 error code is visible again, place a further 0.5kg (500g) of Pure Spa Salt in the spa.

Water Leakage.	Error code for an issue with water leaking within the body of the pump.	Check the couplings on the pump connections to ensure there is no water leaking from these. Also ensure the washers within these are flat. These can be checked using a screwdriver and simply unscrewing the coupling. Signal within the pump.	Error code for issue where the electrical signal within the pump body between the control panel and power board has become disconnected.	This error code can become visible on 2017 model pumps and newer. The date of the spa pump can be located on the silver sticker on the pump body itself (S/N Number) or engraved within the handles. If this error code does become visible, please contact your Bestway Warranty Department as the pump will need to be either replaced or repaired. Not grounded/earthed correctly.	An issue with your extension lead or power supply.	Remove extension lead or get a qualified electrician to check your socket & power supply. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact us.

Backwash Procedure

Attach the stopper caps to the inside of the liner and then remove the Lay-Z-Spa pump unit from the liner (you can do this by unscrewing the 3 couplings ‘A, B and C’).

Using a hosepipe, flush water backwards through the pump. Water should go through pipe ‘B’ and come out of pipe ‘C’.

After a few minutes, flush the water in the opposite direction for about 2 minutes (through pipe ‘C’ and out of pipe ‘B’).

If you have a Hydro Jet Lay-Z-Spa, unfortunately, the backwash procedure will be a little tricky. These are not constructed like the other models of the Lay-Z-Spa. please contact us

This week we have a question from one of our hot tub customers about hot tub repair, and the E6 or Error 6 on their hot tub top side control. The E6 error code on your hot tub usually refers to a reduction or stoppage of water pressure. The E6 code is a warning that there is not sufficient water flow for the power pack to continue operating without possible damage. The power pack must shut down for self preservation. If you do not have enough water flow the area with the heating element will over heat and melt.

The cause of an E6 error code in hot tubs varies greatly but here are a list of things to consider and check.

Filter – The most common reason for an E6 in a hot tub is dirty hot tub filters. It is so important for the operation of your hot tub that you clean your filters weekly with a rinse and every 3 – 6 months with a full degreaser bath to remove the residue. If the filters are dirty the water flow through your hot tub power pack will be impeded and you will have an E6 code and the hot tub will shutdown. This can have disastrous results in the winter if your power pack stops operating and goes unnoticed.
Suction or Intakes in your hot tub – Another possibility to the restriction of water flow can be debris at the suction areas of the hot tub. Make sure these areas are clear from debris.
Air Lock – Another common issue is after filling up your hot tub after draining it or when first starting our you have an air lock in your line. The way to remove this air lock is by either opening the union closest to your pump, or when you are filling your hot tub force the water through your skimmer basket. The air lock most commonly is in the heater element area.
Shut Off Valves – This can be overlooked from time to time, make sure your shut off valves are all open when you start up your power pack.
Power Pack – The last possible issue that you can have with an E6 error code on your hot tub is a faulty pump. The possible problems your pump can have is debris in your impeller, the shaft being seized, or a capacitor issue. Either way you would hear a constant hum from the motor with no water flow. At this point you would want to call in a hot tub service specialist to help.
